Board of Directors

The GWA Chamber of Commerce organization is governed by its Membership through an elected body in the form of a Board of Directors, consisting of four officer positions and general at large board member positions. Board of Director officers and at large Board members are elected annually by the Membership as part of the business conducted annually by the Membership. There Board of Directors provides leadership for the Chamber organization in accordance with a defined set of roles and responsibilities.

Officers

The following is a list of currently elected officers, their associated organizations and a brief biography:

President

  

The Chamber of Commerce President presides at all meetings of the Chamber, submits at the Annual Meeting a full report of the work of the Chamber and except as otherwise authorized by the Executive Committee or President is the public spokesperson for the Chamber.

Lisa Wasson

  

Lisa resides in The Historic Hamlet, Mumford. She was enlisted in the United States Air Force after two years of college and served in Texas, Colorado and in the United Kingdom. After completing her years in the service, she ended up back in New York State and worked in the advertising arena before becoming a full-time, licensed Real Estate Agent in 1996. After just a short time in the business, she earned her Associate Broker’s license.

  

She has always been very active in the community. She is a proud member of the American Legion.  She served on the Town Council for the Town of Wheatland. In addition, she served on the Assessment Review Board and was appointed the Deputy Supervisor.  She coached High School Soccer at Caledonia-Mumford School District and was involved in many youth programs. Over the years she has sat on various Real Estate Committees for the Greater Rochester Association of Realtors and Women's Council of Realtors. She has coached and mentored numerous real estate agents during her career plus was the CEO/Team Leader of a large local brokerage.  Her Real Estate Team consists of a Licensed Executive Assistant, two Full-time Agents and one Part-time Agent.

  

She has various hobbies of which are running, hiking, antiquing, driving her classic Corvairs, refurbishing fun things and reading.  She is a proud mother of two beautiful daughters, 2 step-children, 7 grandchildren and 2 Fur Babies (Adopted Dogs). Her passion is to change lives with home ownership, coaching/mentoring entrepreneurs and grow the community she lives in.

The Chamber of Commerce Vice President assists the President in all of his or her duties and in the absence of the President shall assume the duties of the presiding officer.

Mark Turner

Mark Turner

  

Mark and his wife Linda are long-time residents of the Town of Wheatland, raising their four children here. Mark was a founding member of the Scottsville Athletic Association, contributing as an Officer on the Board of Directors, Soccer Program Director and coach for youth soccer and baseball teams. Mark has the Chairman of the Wheatland Recreation Commission for many years and also ran the Wheatland Youth Basketball program for an extended time.

  

Mark worked as an Engineering Executive at a local military communications company, responsible for the development of technology, products and systems. He was a member of the Board of Directors for an International Industry Consortium where he also served as the Chief Financial Officer. Mark received international achievement awards for Leadership and Technology Development and is a member of the Wireless Innovation Forum’s Hall of Fame.  Mark is excited to continue a tradition of community service with the GWA Chamber of Commerce, collaborating with local businesses, while also supporting the greater community. Mark was recently inducted into the Wheatland Community Hall of Fame.

Secretary

  

The Chamber of Commerce Secretary is responsible for keeping the Chamber records and seal, the membership role, meeting minute books and resolutions. 

Debi Fitts

  

Debi and her husband, Pastor Curtis Fitts of Charity Bible Church have lived in the village of Caledonia for 9 years.  The church was self-planted in Caledonia in 2011 in a storefront in Caledonia.  In 2018, the church moved to property at 1794 Scottsville-Mumford Rd in Wheatland.  Charity Bible, represented by Debi, became a member of the Greater Wheatland Chamber in 2018.  Debi is excited to serve as secretary for the chamber and looks forward to her new responsibilities.  She has worked at RIT for 42 years and hopes to use her leadership experience gained there in her service to the chamber.

Treasurer

  

The Chamber of Commerce Treasurer is responsible for supervising the collection and deposit of all dues, receipts and other funds of the Chamber, establishes and maintains such bank accounts that may be necessary to carry out these duties.  The Treasurer also performs a continuing audit of all receipts, deposits, disbursements, and monthly financial statements as well as providing a financial report at each regular meeting of the Chamber's membership.

Karen Coyle

  

Karen and late husband Dan, began Coyle's Pumpkin Ranch on Oatka Trail, over 30 years ago.  Farming and contributing to our community has always been our passion.  Karen has retired from a Payroll Specialist position held for 33 years.
